KNP Land Management handles site preparation for residential projects in Ringgold, Georgia and across our service area. We approach every site prep job with the same standard: do it right the first time so everything built on top of it holds up.
Site preparation is the process of making land ready for construction or development. Before a foundation can be poured, before a structure can go up, or before utilities can be installed, the ground beneath needs to be properly cleared, graded, and stabilized. This work requires the right equipment and attention to detail — mistakes made at the site prep stage can cause significant problems with drainage, structural stability, and overall project success.
Site prep is not a single task — it is a combination of related work that gets a property ready for the next phase of development. Depending on your project, site preparation with KNP may include:
Site prep is the most consequential work on any build project — mistakes made here show up in foundations, drainage, and structural stability years later. KNP Land Management approaches every site prep job with owner involvement from the first site walk to the final grade. Nick Parton walks every property himself before work begins, because site prep decisions cannot be made from a truck window.
KNP does not run large rotating crews. The same people who show up for the estimate are the ones doing the work — which means what was discussed on day one is what gets executed on site. For a job as critical as site preparation, that continuity matters.
KNP’s minimum job size is set specifically to ensure every project receives proper equipment mobilization — not a rushed half-day job with undersized tools. Site prep done with the right equipment from the start avoids the compaction failures and drainage problems that come from cutting corners on mobilization.
Real feedback from homeowners, landowners, and property developers across Ringgold, GA and the greater Chattanooga region. These are clients who trusted KNP Land Management to handle important work on their property—from full site preparation and land clearing to grading, excavation, and emergency response—and experienced firsthand our commitment to showing up on time, communicating clearly, and getting the job done right the first time.

We had a load of gravel delivered to fix our driveway and neighbors driveway . They did a excellent job of coming on time, getting the gravel spread and packed down! Completely redid our driveway. For a very reasonable price.![]()

Would highly recommend KNP Land Management to anyone needing dirt work done. They came out and cleared some trees and brush on my property. They showed up when they said they would. Nick made sure I was happy with the way it turned out and he made the finishing work look great!! Very fair on the price as well!!
Nick walks the property with you to understand your project and provide a clear, accurate estimate based on real site conditions.
We evaluate the land, discuss your build plans, and outline exactly what needs to be done for proper site preparation.
Once approved, we schedule your job and bring the right equipment to handle clearing, grading, and prep work efficiently.
We don’t leave until the site is properly prepared and ready for the next phase of your construction project.
Site prep rarely happens in isolation. Most projects that require site preparation also need one or more of the following services: Land Clearing, Excavation and Grading, Driveway Installation, Water Line Installation, and Septic System Installation form Georgia and TN properties. We can coordinate these services together so your project moves forward without unnecessary delays.
We are based in Ringgold, Georgia, and our service area covers a wide stretch of the region — from Pikeville, Tennessee in the north to Calhoun, Georgia in the south, and west into Trenton. If you are not sure whether we cover your area, just call or text. We are happy to let you know what we can do for you.
It depends on the size of the property, what is on it, and what the project requires. A smaller residential lot with minimal clearing might be completed in a day or two. A larger or more involved site could take longer. When we come out for the free estimate, we will give you a realistic timeframe based on what we see.
Permit requirements vary by county and by the type of project. In most cases, permits are tied to the construction project itself rather than the site prep work. We recommend checking with your local county planning office about what is required for your specific project before we begin.
That is not a problem. Land clearing is a core part of what we do, and it often goes hand in hand with site prep. If your land needs to be cleared before it can be graded and prepared, we handle that as part of the process.
